ABSTRACT
Devita Cahya Prasinta (4.11.22.0.07) and Widi Wulandari (4.11.22.0.26). “Visualization Model and Testing of the Jacketing Method for the Repair of Reinforced Concrete Structures.” Thesis supervised by Prof. Dr. Drs. The implementation of structural maintenance and repair currently still relies on conventional SOPs in the form of text and 2D drawings, which often lead to differences in interpretation in the field. Therefore, a visualization model is needed that can explain the stages of structural repair in a more communicative manner compared to conventional SOPs presented in text and drawings. The objective of this research is to develop a BIM-based 3D visualization model as a communicative digital solution and to test the concrete jacketing method for improving the flexural strength of reinforced concrete beams. This study employs two approaches: laboratory experiments and the development of visualization media. The experimental approach involved applying the concrete jacketing method to 12 reinforced concrete beam test specimens with initial dimensions of 10x10x50 cm, followed by testing their flexural strength before and after the repair. The visualization media development approach utilized Autodesk Revit, SketchUp, Enscape, and AI Nano Banana software to create animations. The media was validated through expert assessment and user testing, while experimental data analysis was performed using SPSS. The research results show that the concrete jacketing method has a significant effect on increasing the maximum load of reinforced concrete beams, with the average maximum load rising from 7.86 kN to 18.39 kN. The visualization model developed was deemed highly viable, with a rating of 85% from materials experts, 95% from media experts, and 93% from user testing. An increase in user understanding was demonstrated by a 2.4% rise in average scores from the pre-test to the post-test. This visualization model successfully integrated implementation techniques into a digital platform, thereby improving the quality of building maintenance.
